2003, LAS VEGAS

It Began When a Game Studio Closed Its Doors

Before ITS, our founder Tom Andrulis spent seven years on the technology team at Westwood Studios, the Las Vegas game developer later owned by Electronic Arts. When the studio moved to Los Angeles, Tom stayed. Friends started calling about small business clients whose IT problems nobody could fix, and he fixed them.

What he noticed shaped everything that followed. The problems slowing down local businesses were ones a large studio solved every day. Growing companies just didn't have access to that level of expertise. Intelligent Technical Solutions was founded to close that gap.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Two Decades of Learning, Building and Growing Together

ITS didn't grow in a straight line. Every chapter taught us something we still use with clients today.

2003

Founded in Las Vegas

One engineer, a handful of local clients, and a belief that every business deserves IT that just works.

2012

The Hardest Year

We lost half our clients in two months and had to rebuild. We learned to measure everything, price honestly, and build processes that don't depend on any one person. The next year, we more than doubled.

2014–2017

A Team Bigger Than Its Founder

We built a leadership team, adopted EOS, and set clear KPIs for every department. We also cut our core values from ten to three, so every person could actually live them.

2016

Our First Partnership

We joined forces with another IT firm from Tom's peer group. It worked so well that it became our growth model.

2018–2022

Local Firms, One Team

Respected IT companies in Phoenix, Pasadena, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco and beyond chose to join ITS. Most of their owners and engineers stayed, so their clients kept the people they already trusted.

2022

Backing to Go Further

We partnered with a private equity firm chosen for culture fit first. That backing let us bring more teams together and invest heavily in security.

2023–2024

Growing Up the West Coast

Portland, Reno, Olympia, Seattle and Sacramento joined the ITS family.

2026

Security at Our Core

Atlanta cybersecurity firm Black Breach joined ITS and became the Black Breach Security Division, our own team for 24/7 SOC, MDR, penetration testing and vCISO services.

2026

Into Texas

A Dallas-Fort Worth IT firm, Velocity IT, joined ITS, adding 12 team members and our first Texas office.

The Next Chapter

Expanding into the Mountain West and Midwest, with the same promise in every new city.
