Zero Day Attack

Zero-day attacks compromise businesses and institutions without their knowledge. So how do you prepare for an attack that is difficult to detect beforehand? Watch this video to learn more about what zero-day attacks are and how to best prepare your business against them.

In this video, we’ll go over:

1. What is a Zero-Day Attack? 0:38

A Zero-Day Attack is an exploit to which no security patch exists.

2. What is an example of this attack? 1:00

An example of this attack was discovered by Microsoft in the beginning of March 2021. They had four different security vulnerabilities that were patched, each of which was actively used as early as January 2021.

3. What does this mean for your business’ security? 1:22

Your business is vulnerable anytime these exploits exist. In the case of a Zero-Day, there is no security patch that can stop the exploit. However, although Zero-Days may exist, they are not always being used as they are valuable. As soon as one is discovered, there will be a patch in the works immediately, ruining its value to those that possess it.

4. How can you protect your business? 2:41

Be aware of what technology you have and make sure to have basic security protocols in place. When dealing with a Zero-Day attack, it is best to have a team that is knowledgeable and updated about technology. When a security patch is released, they can quickly patch your devices and ensure your technological environment’s continued security.
